A week with a horse of their own
Day camp at the barn, 9 AM to 3 PM. Each camper is assigned a camp horse to catch, groom, saddle and ride, and works through Level 1 horsemanship on the ground and in the saddle.

Holiday camps 2026
Winter Horse Camp, Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 December. Three days, 9 AM to 3 PM, a trail ride on day two and the Camp Olympics Show on day three.
Summer camp 2027
Ten weeks, from 7 June to 13 August, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM, with Extended Care to 5:30 PM. Each week is grouped by age; the registration page shows the group for each week.
Up to 16 campers a week. The price shows when you register.
The camp week
Catch, groom, saddle, ride
Every camper is assigned a camp horse for the week. They learn to catch, groom and saddle it, then ride, working through Level 1 horsemanship: barn safety, reading the horse, groundwork, then riding.
On the last day, families come for the Camp Olympics Show; Friday pick-up runs to about 3:30 PM in summer.

9 AM and 3 PM at the barn; Extended Care to 5:30 PM in summer.
What to wear
Long pants, closed-toe shoes or boots with a slight heel, and layers; a warm coat for December.
Helmets
ASTM-certified helmets are provided, and every rider under 18 wears one.
The waiver
A parent or guardian signs the OVS Participant Agreement for each camper before camp.

Who is camp for?
Ages 8 to 17. Summer weeks alternate between ages 8 to 13 and 13 to 17, and the December camp is for ages 8 to 16. Each registration page shows the group for its week.
Does my child need experience?
No. Everyone starts at Level 1, on the ground.
What happens if the weather turns?
Weather and the welfare of the horses are our call, and we make it for safety. Read Section 8 of our Terms
