Tuesday: 

Delve deeper into the world of horses with advanced lessons on horse handling, and saddle up for interactive games like "Red-light Green-light" and “Follow the Leader,” designed to hone riding skills in a playful, collaborative setting.

TUESDAY:

  • 9:00am: Arrival: ◦ Learn how to get your horse to "hook onto you" so that you can catch him/her. (Helps to create strong bond between horse and child)

  • 9:45am: Snack time

  • 10:00am: Groom and saddle your horse

  • 11:00am: Lunch break!

  • 11:45am: Split into two groups

  • Group one: Lesson!

    • Time to saddle up your lesson horse and prepare for a lesson.

    • Demonstrate how to properly mount your horse using the mounting block.

    • Review how to maneuver the horse with your body, hands and legs.

    • Review how to ask a horse to stop and go.

    • Play a game of "Red-light Green-light" (To show that you can control your horse's speed)

    • Play a game of “Follow the Leader” To demonstrate your ability to steer and direct your horse.

    • Demonstrate how to properly dismount and tie your horse up.

      Group two:

    • Learn the different parts of a saddle and their function.

    • Switch and repeat with opposite group

      2:15pm: Unsaddle, grain and groom horses.

      2:45pm: Enjoy a snack while you wait or volunteer to help with the horses until your parents arrive.
